Willis W. Craft

Willis W. Craft of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, October 28, 1942, in Shannon County, Missouri to Tony and Wilma (Wilson) Craft. He left this life on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at the age of 80.

Willis worked several years for Leo’s Goodtime Lounge, where he was known for his “Whopper” burger. He would later own and operate Pop’s Corner Café and then worked for Shelly’s Route 66 Café. He always enjoyed entertaining others with his cooking skills. He was a devoted member of the Cuba Lions Club, attended the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan.

Willis is preceded in death by his parents Tony and Wilma (Wilson) Craft; two children Terry Craft and Laurie Ann Kitchen; one sister Alma Hanks; one brother Leon Craft; three sisters-in-law Cecilia Craft, Brenda Craft and Ruth Craft.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his two children Peggy and husband Tom Bender of Owensville, Michael and wife Kathryn Craft of Rogersville; four grandchildren Ashley and husband Mike Lomax of Troy, Texas, Melissa Kitchen of St. Louis, A.J. Craft of Pittsburgh, Kansas, Eli Craft of Rogersville; four great-grandchildren Adam, Emma, Caleb and Ory; seven brothers and one sister Bob and wife Dottie Craft, Melvin Craft, Jim and wife Linda Craft, Larry Craft, Danny and wife Terri Craft, Judy Craft, Tim and wife Paulette Craft, Randy and wife Susan Craft all of St. James; one sister-in-law Donna Craft of St. James; special friends Shelly Bizzle and Ron Schroeder of Cuba; nieces, nephews and many friends.

In keeping with his wishes, Willis will be cremated.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin, officiating.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Cuba Lions Club.
