William Edward "Ed" Hamilton, Sr. of Cuba, Missouri was born December 11, 1931 at Cuba, Missouri to the union of Herbert J. and Anna J. (Nee: Steffen) Hamilton and left from this life on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 83 years. Ed was united in marriage to Rosemary Menz on April 14, 1951 at Cuba, Missouri and to this union two sons were born; William Edward Jr. and Bobby Joe. Ed started his working career as a farmer. He then worked in the ASC office for several years. In 1964 Ed became a Real Estate Broker and sold real estate until 1971. In 1972 Ed and Rosemary moved to Table Rock Lake. There they purchased a resort and in 1974 they retired and moved home to farm. Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and gardening. He was excellent at wood working and could build anything. He made furniture, cabinets, cedar chests and fishing lures, to name a few, but he never sold anything. Instead he gave it all away. Ed and Rosemary spent nearly sixty four years of marriage together and they did everything side by side. They were members of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cuba for many years. What Ed loved most in life was his wife and spending time with his family and friends. Ed was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend of many. Ed is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Anna Hamilton, two brothers George H. and wife Agnes Hamilton and James L. Hamilton, brother-in-law Joe Michalik and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Rosemary Hamilton of the home, two sons William Edward "Ed" Hamilton, Jr and wife Jerry of Centralia, Missouri and Bobby Joe and wife De Dee Hamilton of Cuba, three grandchildren Amanda and husband Kevin Erisman of Centralia, Missouri, Bobbie Joe and husband Bryant Lee of St. Peters, Missouri and Andrea and husband Matt Houseworth of Warrensburg, Missouri, four great grandchildren Lance, Grant, Rebecca and Brynna, one sister Helen Michalik, three sisters-in-law Betty Hamilton of Washington, Missouri, Catherine Lackner of Cuba and Mary McPherson of Cuba, three brothers-in-law Louis and wife Margaret Menz of New Haven, Missouri, Tom and wife Gerry Menz of Owensville and Gene and wife Sue Menz of Owensville, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 730 Fleenor Road, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Joe Ed Pederson as the officiant. Special music will be "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Interment and prayers will follow at the Hamilton Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hamilton Cemetery in Ed's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Hamilton family.
