Wanda Lee (Rector) Myers

May 4, 1934 — March 25, 2022

Wanda Lee Myers of Cuba, Missouri was born on May 4, 1934, in Bourbon, Missouri to the union of Frank and Elsie (Neumann) Rector. She left from this life at her home suddenly on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the age of 87.

Wanda was united in marriage to Joseph W. Myers on July 27, 1957, in Cuba, Missouri. To this union three children were born Charlotte, Joseph and Robert.

Wanda retired after thirty-two years of dedicated service, as the High School Secretary for the Crawford County R-II School District. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, she enjoyed her outings with the lunch bunch, TOPS, gardening, flowers and watching the wildlife. She was always up for a game of Scrabble or Aggravation and she loved spending time with her family.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Frank Rector, Elsie and Lawrence Bechter; husband Joseph W. Myers; siblings Harold “Bud” Rector, Sr., Vernon Rector, Helen and husband Art Lewis, Dorla Dean and husband Kelly Summers, Rita Angel Sowards and husbands Don Angel and Bob Sowards; parents-in-law Robert and Fannie (McIntosh) Myers; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Janet McIntosh, Anne and husband Champ King, David and wife Jackie Myers, Paul Myers, Pauline and husband James “Red” Eaton; nephews and nieces Doug Rector, Harold Rector, Jr., Suzie Summers, Danny Summers, Keith Summers, Les Lewis, Roy Lee King, Debbie (Myers) Herschelman.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her three children Charlotte and husband Doug Williams of St. James, Joseph Myers of Cuba, Robert and wife Sindel Myers of Cuba; grandchildren JD Williams, Paige and husband Nate McClary, Josie Myers, Joseph Myers, Jesse and significant other Shianne Eaton, Cami Myers and Ethan Myers; three sisters-in-law Maxine Myers of Cuba, Glenna Taylor of Troy; Gloria Rector of Bourbon; eleven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

“Special thanks to Crystal (Hippie) for the care and understanding that you gave mom. You could always make her laugh with your stories, and she loved you.”

A Celebration of Wanda’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will continue until 6 p.m. at Cuba Lakes Country Club 241 Highway O, Cuba, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wanda Myers Charitable Trust Fund at Peoples Bank.
