Walter Joseph Harmon, Jr. of Leasburg, Missouri was born to the union of Walter Joseph and Helen M. (Grueber) Harmon, Sr. on August 27, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 83. Walter was united in marriage to Isabelle M. Narrow on April 3, 1948 in Richmond Heights, Missouri and to this union seven children were born Walter III, Patrick, Steve, Kathleen, Kevin, Kenneth and Lisa. Walter retired from Paramount Apparel Company as a Production Manager after many years of dedicated service. He served his Country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting, bowling, geneology and hummingbirds, but most of all he enjoyed being a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Walter is preceded in death by his parents Walter J. and Helen M. (Grueber) Harmon, Sr.; his daughter Lisa Bruning; one grandson Keith Harmon. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Isabelle M. Harmon of Leasburg, Missouri; six children Walter and wife Betty Harmon, III of High Ridge, Missouri, Patrick "Pat" and wife Judy Harmon of Hillsboro, Missouri, Steve and wife Linda Harmon of Sullivan, Missouri, Kathleen and husband Terry Parnell of Bourbon, Missouri, Kevin and wife Karen Harmon of Festus, Missouri, Kenneth and wife Tammy Harmon of Leasburg, Missouri; son-in-law David Bruning of Japan, Missouri; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Father James Finder, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Harmon family.
