Walter E. McIntosh of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, May 22, 1935 at Cuba, Missouri to the union of Wilson and Effie (Nee: Monda) McIntosh and left from this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 77 years. Walter was united in marriage to Shirley Brown and to this union two children were born Katherine and Ron. Walter started his concrete finisher career in the mid 1950's working in St. Louis every day before going to work for Neil Schatz in Sullivan and after nearly fifty years as a concrete finisher Walter retired in 2002 from Associated Crafts in Sullivan. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting (especially turkey and deer), fishing and gardening. He spent many hours working on lawn mowers and in his older years for exercise he would spend days cutting wood. Walter always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Walter was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Walter is preceded in death by his parents Wilson and Effie McIntosh, one brother Gene and wife Marilyn McIntosh, two sisters Helen and husband Tom Brennan and Juanita and husband Raymond Hughes, sisters-in-law Betty McIntosh and Sis McIntosh and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Shirley McIntosh of the home, two children Katherine Stanfield of Broken Arrow, OK and Ron "Ro" and wife Liz McIntosh of Cuba, six grandchildren Jennifer and husband Chance Arnold, Amy Olsen, Angela Barton, Michael Barton, Sam McIntosh and Jessie Switzer, twelve great grandchildren, four brothers Bill McIntosh of Rolla, David McIntosh of Palatine, IL, Dale and wife Pat McIntosh of Cuba and Jerry and wife Lorraine McIntosh of Palatine, IL, sister-in-law Goldie and husband Carl Black of Sullivan, brothers-in-law Edward and wife Becky Brown of Doniphan, Missouri, Frank and wife Judy Brown of Springfield, Missouri and Kenneth Brown of California, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, April14, 2013 from 5 till 8 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W. Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Pat Gruber, officiating. Interment and prayers will follow at the Fleming Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fleming Cemetery. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the McIntosh family.
