Virgil Champ Martin of Cedar Hill, Missouri was born to the union of Champ R. and Augusta V. (Atkinson) Martin on November 27, 1942 in Steelville, Missouri and left from this life on Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 70. Virgil worked for many years as a Maintenance Repairman, finishing his career at Madison Steel Company in Madison, IL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Virgil is preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary F. (Laster) Martin; four brothers Haskel "Hack" Martin, Delmar "Red" Martin, Charlie Martin and Joseph Martin; two sisters Margie Nagel and Wanda Schroeder. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his son Kevin and wife Amy Martin of Festus, Missouri; three beautiful granddaughters Emily Michelle, Lindsey Nicole and Mandy Lynn Martin; two sisters Emma Jean Carter of Steelville, Missouri, Billie Jean and husband Jim Chapman of Cuba, Missouri; three sisters-in-law Rosetta Marie Christian of St. Louis, Missouri, Ida Ellen Hunsperger of Warrenton, Missouri, Ruby Wyatt of Troy, Illinois; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Dudley, officiating. Interment will follow at Schwieder Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri. Memorials would be appreciated to the family in care of Mizell Funeral Home. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Martin family
