Violet J. Thomas-farris

Violet J. Thomas-Farris of Cuba was born to the union of Eugene and Maude (Bradshaw) Chapman on Friday, March 2, 1934 in Cuba, Missouri and left from this life on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 80. Violet retired from Brown Shoe Company after many years of dedicated service. Later she worked in Home Health Care and enjoyed taking care of others. In her spare time she enjoyed taking care of and showing her quarter horses and working in her flower garden. Violet is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Maude (Bradshaw) Chapman; one son-in-law Louis "Luke" House. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her husband Larry Farris; three children Kathy House of Cuba, Missouri, Chris and husband Robert White of Cuba, Missouri, James and wife Barb Thomas of Robertsville, Missouri; five grandchildren Tracey and husband Ron Hughes of Cuba, Missouri, Bob House of Bourbon, Missouri, Jerrid Thomas of Cuba, Missouri, Lindsay and husband Sam Ruble of Orange City, Iowa, Marcy Thomas of Tennessee; five great-grandchildren, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Coleman, officiating. Interment will follow at Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Thomas-Farris family.
