Thomas L. Park of Cuba, Missouri formerly of Alton, Illinois was born on April 5, 1919 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Thomas and Hulda Park (nee Enstall) and he left from this life on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the age of 87 years 3 months and 1 day. Thomas was united in marriage to Betty Gean Smith on January 16, 1943 in Alton, IL. They enjoyed over 61 years together until Betty's passing on June 10, 2004. From this union three children were born William, Thomas and Judith. Thomas was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba, 52 year member of Franklin Masonic Lodge in Alton, IL and he proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a retiree of Laclede Steel Company in Alton, IL. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, traveling, gardening and fishing. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Hulda Park, wife Betty G. Smith (nee Enstall), son Thomas L. Park, five sisters Ethel Weaver, Martha Park, Betty Forbes, Esther Long and Evelyn Dunlap, two great-grandchildren Patrick Sissons and Brandon Kirby. Those who are left to mourn his passing are a son William (Victoria) Park, a daughter Judith Downing, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial service for Thomas & Betty Park will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba 701 N. Main St. Cuba, Missouri on Friday, July 21, 2006. Masonic service 6:30 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Mary Arnold, officiating.
