Susan Kay Mahan of Pomona, California was born Monday, June 15, 1964 at St. Louis, Missouri to Lonnie Mahan and Patricia Leavitt Mahan. She left from this life on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Pomona, California at the age of 54 years. Susan was the proud mom of Heather and Scott. Before her health began to decline, Susan worked on the farm and was a cook at different restaurants. She was truly an outdoors person. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding and camping. She loved all animals, especially horses. What she truly treasured most in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and all her family. Susan was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin, niece, girlfriend and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her mother Patricia Leavitt Hatcher, father Lonnie Mahan and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children; Heather Polk of Bourbon and Scott Mahan of Licking, eight grandchildren; Ragen, Myson, Brooklyn, Cheyenne, Alicia, Weston, Carter and Jaxon, two sisters; Deanna and husband Thomas Pogue of Cuba and Lona and husband James Pogue of Cuba, two brothers; James and wife Laura Mahan of Pacific and Lonnie Mahan of Missouri, step dad Gerald "Jerry" Hatcher of Cuba, aunts Vickie Leavitt of Pacific and Pansley Helm of Robertsville, uncle Jim and wife Linda Leavitt of St. Louis, companion Patrick Strutman of Pomona, California, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousin and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Boone Creek Cemetery, 10864 MO Hwy 137, Licking, Missouri. Special music will be "Go Rest High on That Mountain" and "Dancing in The Sky". Honored to serve as pall bearers are Tony Gan-Drennen, Dustin Drennen, Carter Mahan, Randy Pogue, Austin Pogue, James Christensen and Eric Pogue. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Susan's family.
