Stanley Arthur Miller

Stanley Arthur Miller of Cuba was born Tuesday, December 22, 1931 at Bourbon, Missouri to the union of Claude and Stella (Nee: Ratliff) Miller. He left from this life on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Cuba Manor at the age of 86 years. Stanley proudly served in the United States Army from 4 December 1952 till 13 November 1954. He received the rank of Corporal and he spent one year three months and eighteen days stationed overseas during the Korean War. He earned the National Defense Service Medal. Stanley was united in marriage to Jane Doyle on July 27, 1963 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cuba. They were blessed with two sons; Joe and Donnie. Stanley worked thirty-three years as a mechanic for Jim's Motors and he worked eight years for Don Treece Chevrolet as a mechanic before retiring in 1994. Stanley enjoyed gardening, fishing with his sons, cutting wood and after he retired, he became the neighborhood mechanic. He helped Jane babysit after he retired. He loved having children around but when the house was quiet, he watched NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. What he truly loved most in life was spending time with his family and friends. Stanley was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, great-great uncle and friend of everyone. He will be truly missed by al who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Stella Miller, three brothers; George and wife Edna Miller, Jim and wife Judy Miller and David Miller, daughter-in-law Mary B. Miller, brothers-in-law Robert "Bob" Veach and Robert Doyle. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of fifty-five years Jane Miller of the home, two sons; Joe and wife Tracy Brandenburger Miller of Owensville and Donnie and wife Renee Miller of St. James, two grandchildren Ryan Miller of St. James and Kelsey Miller of Holts Summit, Missouri, sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law; Betty Miller of Cuba, Carol and husband Tom Tucker of Cincinnati, Ohio, Catherine Veach of Cuba, Betty and husband Gary King of Colorado, June and husband William Dotson of Cuba, Rosemary and husband Mike Campbell of Cuba, Charles "Elmer" and wife Wilma Doyle, James and wife Sue Doyle, Richard and wife Lulabelle Doyle all of Cuba, David and wife Pat Doyle of Steelville and Paul and wife Ellen Doyle of Cuba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2018 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba. Special music will be "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Fly Away". Interment, prayers and full military honors will follow at the Gerth Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri. Honored to serve as pall bearers are Joe Miller, Donnie Miller, Bobby Doyle, Keith Doyle, Gary Campbell, Ewell Day, Bill Dotson, Jr. and Jason Mehl. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Miller family for care of Gerth Cemetery. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Stanley's family.
