Shirley Marie Burch

Shirley Marie Burch of Cuba, Missouri was born Tuesday, August 18, 1936 at St. Clair County, Illinois to the union of Arthur and Geraldine (nee: Milligan) Foster. She left from this life, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at her daughter's home in St. Peters, Missouri at the age of 82 years. Shirley was united in marriage to Earl Wesley Burch on March 10, 1983 at Steelville, Missouri. Shirley retired in 1998 from Phelps County Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. She spent hours working in her flower beds and was an avid collector of elephants. This was Shirley's favorite time of the year because she could set up her Christmas Village, it would take ten tables to hold all the village. Shirley and Earl enjoyed taking vacations to the Dominican, Mexico and cruises to the Caribbean. What she truly loved most in life was spending time with her family, friends and her cats. Shirley was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, step mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Geraldine Foster, husband Earl Wesley Burch, one son Henry Francis Peterson III, sister Ruth Evans, step daughter-in-law Anita Burch and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children; E. Stephen and wife Martha Brown of Dickenson, Texas, Terra Lynn Brown of St. Peters, Missouri, Ellen Marie and husband David Buddemeyer of O'Fallon, Missouri, Tammy Myra Gardner of Fenton, Missouri, two step sons Michael Wesley and wife Stacia Burch of Sullivan and Timothy Earl Burch of Bourbon, seventeen grandchildren; Aletha Brown of Dickenson, Texas, Craig and wife Jenna English of St. Peters, David Brown of St. Peters, Kathryn and husband Daniel Rosen of Madison, Wisconsin, Ted Hutchins of Springfield, Missouri, Henry Peterson, IV of Missouri, Evan, Elliott, Hannah and Helen Gardner of Fenton, Michael Burch of Sullivan, Alex Burch of Sullivan, Joseph Burch of South Carolina, Katie Burch of Columbia, Missouri, Jeremiah Burch of Springfield, Missouri, Felicia Filkins of Sullivan and Hannah Filkins of Sullivan, thirteen great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Mace officiating. Special recorded music will be "Kansas City", "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "How Great Thou Art". Interment and prayers will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 2000 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, St. Louis. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Shirley's family.
