Sheila Elaine (Callahan) Simpson, 60, of Cuba, passed away, suddenly, at her home on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
On November 14, 1965, Sheila was born to the union of Landis Callahan & Alva (Conaway) in Cuba, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Dennis "Buck" Lee Simpson Sr. on October 5, 2003.
Sheila was a dedicated and hardworking CNA for many years at Gibbs Care Center and other facilities in the area.
Sheila was a woman of many talents. She wrote beautiful poems as well as songs, when she wasn't creating her own art, she loved listening to all kinds of music while dancing along with her daughters. Creative writing wasn't all she was good at, she also had a knack for crafting, gardening and caring for her flowers. Her favorite flowers were carnations & roses. Sheila was also a family historian having picked up genealogy as a hobby. Most of all, Sheila loved spending time with her large family and many friends, she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Landis (Alva) Callahan; husband, Dennis "Buck" Lee Simpson Sr.; Siblings, Sylvia (Raymond) Stroup, Samuel (Lillie) Callahan, Sondra Veach & Infant sister, Fern Callahan; Brother & Sister's In-Law, Don Nickelson, Lindell Thompson, Charles Brown & Gerald Reed.
Sheila is survived by her two daughters Brandee O'Neail-Hurst of Cuba and Jennifer O'Neail Salem; Brothers & Sisters, Anita Bridgeman of Steelville, Cathy Brown of Cherryville, Sharon (Emery) Harmon of Steelville, Steve Callahan of Viburnum & Patricia Reed of Washington; brother-in-law, Johnny Veach of Steelville; grandchildren, Dyllyon O'Neail of Cuba, Anna (Dawson) Sullins of Licking, Sierra (Jesse) Bogle of Cuba, Marianna Hurst of Cuba, Steven McMillen of Cuba, Whitley Licklider of Cuba, Austin Licklider of Farmington & Zachariah Taylor of Salem; great-grandchildren, Emylyn Bogle, Octavia Bogle, Jesey Bogle & Zoey Sullins; special niece, Stephanie (Kevin) Calvert of St. Clair; other nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory, Cuba, Missouri. A funeral service, conducted by Pastor Harrison Brown will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory, Cuba, Missouri. Interment & graveside service will follow at the Martin-Trask Cemetery in Cherryville.
