Sharon Nancy Doskocil

January 15, 1945 — May 7, 2018

Sharon "Nancy" Doskocil of Steelville, formerly of Cuba, was born Monday, January 15, 1945 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Otto David and Nellie Mae (Nee: Foster) Sutton and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 73 years. On October 19, 1963 Nancy was united in marriage to Louis Doskocil and to this union five children were born; Louis, Sindy, Lisa, Brenda and Lynda. Nancy retired in the mid 1980's from cleaning office buildings. She was a long-time member of the Delhi Baptist Church and a lifetime fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. She enjoyed online games, bingo, playing cards and watching wrestling. She spent years as a 4-H assistant and her front yard was always full of beautiful flowers. When she couldn't sleep at night, she would order unusual things off the TV and she still gets all the magazines. Nancy's favorite time of the year was Christmas, especially Christmas Eve when the entire family would come to her house. She loved decorating for the holidays. What she truly treasured most in life was spending time with her family and friends. Nancy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Nellie Sutton, husband Louis Doskocil, three brothers; Charles and wife Joyce Landis, John and wife Norma Sutton, David and wife Dorothy Sutton, two sisters; Shirley and husband Wesley Haws and Patricia Phillips and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children; Louis and wife Deborah Doskocil of St. Louis, Sindy and husband Tom Boyer of Cuba, Lisa and husband Jim Fowler of Union, Missouri, Brenda and husband David Pinnell of Cuba and Lynda and husband Richard Emily of Cuba, fifteen grandchildren; Jessie Thorn of St. Louis, Brian and wife Dee Thorn of St. Louis, Timothy and wife Andrea Doskocil of Festus, Rachel and husband Randall Walton of Festus, Daniel Thorn of O'Fallon, Missouri, Amanda and husband Josh Maloney of Pevely, Matthew Boyer of Belleville, Illinois, Carl and wife Tosha Lindell of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Leo and wife Desteny Lindell of St. James, Brandon Boyer of Cuba, Chassity Godbey of Union, Alex Pinnell of Cuba, Dominic Pinnell of Cuba, Jasmin Doskocil of Cuba, Joshua Hayes of Cuba, twenty three great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law Darrell Phillips of Cuba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 5:00 till 8:00 pm at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Joe Bruno officiating. Special recorded music will be "Amazing Grace". Interment and prayers will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba. Honored to serve as pall bearers will be Jessie Thorn, Danny Thorn, Leo Lindell, Brandon Boyer, Carl Lindell, Dominic Pinnell and Alex Pinnell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cuba Animal Shelter in Nancy's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Nancy's family.
