Ronald J. 'Ron' Bandy

Ronald J. Bandy of Cuba, Missouri formerly of Belleville, Illinois was born February 26, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana and left from this life on Monday, January 7, 2013 at his home surrounded by family at the age of 78. Ron over the years worked for Norwich Pharmaceutical Company, Elder Cadillac in Belleville, IL and retired from the St. Clair County Sheriffs Department in 2008. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard, was a member of East Lodge #504 Fairview Heights,, IL, Ainad Shrine, Ainad Provost Guard, Cuba Lions Club and Cuba Memorial Post Post #522 A.L. Ron enjoyed reading, guns, turkey shoots, football, NASCAR and spending time with family, friends and his dog Jake. Ron is preceded in death by his parents Jesse James and Rosa Gertrude (Moore) Bandy. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Shirley Bandy of Cuba, Missouri; one son Ronald J. "Skip" and wife Laurie Bandy, II of Belleville, Illinois; five step-children Ken and wife Pat Coverdell of Kansas City, Missouri, Ernie and wife Shell Coverdell of Edgar Springs, Missouri, Tammy and husband Bill Voellinger of Licking, Missouri, Karen and husband Glen Groom of Cuba, Missouri, Jodi and husband Jerry Smith of Vienna, Missouri; special friend Tim Duff of Greenville, Illinois; three grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. "Bandit 18 Adam you are now 10-42" Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 5-8 p.m. with a Masonic service 6:30 p.m.at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 10:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Duff and Bro. Ernie Coverdell, officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana. If desired memorials would be appreciated to the Wounded Warriors or Phelps County Hospice. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Bandy family.
