Ronald Earl Ambrose

May 25, 1937 — February 27, 2013

Ronald Earl Ambrose of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Walter C. and Jane P. (Link) Ambrose on May 25, 1937 in Ellsinore, Missouri and left from this life on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 75. Ron retired from the City of St. Louis after 20 plus years of service in the Refuge Department. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of V.F. W. Post #7147 in Cuba. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting and camping. Ron is preceded in death by his parents; wife Alice Ambrose; one brother William C. Ambrose; one son John Cox. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his two children Linda Howard and Kenny Cox both of St. Louis, Missouri; three sisters Sylvia and husband John Stone of Santa Maria, California; Jewell Walther of Ellsinore, Missouri, Mary Ellen and husband Byron Cralley of Palm Desert, California; one daughter-in-law Connie Cox of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren J.R. Howard, Erin, Brian and Kenny Cox; three great-grandchildren Kenadee, Gage and Libby; companion Debra Atwell and her family of Cuba, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service with Full Military Honors and Interment will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Ambrose family.
