Rodger E. Bridgeman Sr.

June 20, 1952 — January 6, 2021

Rodger E. Bridgeman Sr. of Cuba, Missouri was born on Friday, June 20 1952 in Bourbon, Missouri to the union of John and Ruth (Adair) Bridgeman. He left from this life, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 68 years.

Rodger was united in marriage to Brenda Whalen on January 16, 1982 in Thousand Oaks, California.

Rodger started working at a very young age stocking shelves, to help support his brothers and sisters. Over the years, he worked as a logger, heavy equipment operator for Big O Construction in California and worked several different positions with N. B. West Company. Rodger was a member of Trinity Chapel in Leasburg, Mo., where he spent many hours of dedicated service and commitment. He helped with the church construction and expansion. When the decision came to construct a fellowship hall, it was a decision that it would be dedicated to him in his honor. This was truly his special place of worship. He was a man of tremendous faith, strength, and endurance. Suffering a major illness at a young age would not diminish that.

Besides being a man of faith, hard work, dedication, perseverance, determination, love and compassion, Rodger has always enjoyed tinkering with things and getting them to work again. He has always had an inquisitive mind and willingness to fix it. He was a collector of pocket knives, and you could find him watching western movies and The Price is Right. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and especially his loving grandkids. Rodger was a loving son, husband, father, father-in-law, papa, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend of many.

Rodger is preceded in death by his parents John and Ruth (Adair) Bridgeman; one sister Lola Mae and husband Ernie Holland; four brothers Wayne Bridgeman, Johnny and wife Teri Bridgeman, Carl Bridgeman, and Lawrence Bridgeman; father-in-law Danny Whalen; one sister-in-law Junko Whalen.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and continue his legacy are his loving wife of thirty-eight years Brenda (Whalen) Bridgeman; three children Rodger E. Bridgeman Jr., Danielle and husband Jesse Shafferkoetter, Aimee and husband Andrew McPherson; four amazing grandchildren Raiden, Makenlei, Ava, and Andrew Tucker all of Cuba; six brothers Richard and wife Norma Bridgeman of Cuba, Orville and wife Lois of Newbury Park, California, Haskell and wife Linda Bridgeman, Larry and wife Wanda Bridgeman, Clifford and wife Delphia Bridgeman, Lester and wife Glenda Bridgeman all of Cuba; three sisters Stella and husband Wilbert Buchka, Beverly and husband Jay Hanes, Sharron and husband Dallas Britton all of Cuba; one special "Uncle Brother", Bud Bridgeman of Thousand Oaks, California; mother-in-law Vera Whalen of Newberry Park, California; two sister-in-laws Betty Bridgeman of Cuba, Karen Graham-Hanna of San Jose, California, three brother-in-laws Rick and wife Kim Whalen of Sun Lakes, Arizona, Steven Whalen of Newberry Park, California, Dwain and wife Rene Whalen of Canyon Country, California; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great nephews and host of other family and friends.
