Robert William Long

Robert William Long of High Ridge formerly of Rolla passed away peacefully at home in the loving care of his daughter and family on Wednesday. May 27, 2015 at the age of 91. He was born in Cuba, MO on May 26, 1924 to the late William Clarence and Florence (Wilson) Long. On May 25, 1946 he joined the love of his life the late Esther Ione (Park) in holy matrimony. The two shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. In 1943 Robert joined the US Army and proudly served 3 years in the South Pacific. His career with the Prudential Insurance Company spanned 40 years. He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, and an avid golfer and fisherman though his primary focus always remained his family. Robert will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes four children: Robert Kevin Long and wife Cindy of Yukon OK, Gregory Park Long and partner Patrick Milton Cope of Houston TX, Gretchen Ann (Long) Boyd and husband Steven of High Ridge MO, William Kelly Long and Wife DeeAnne of Rolla, 11 grandchildren: Amanda Long Bruner (DJ), Army SSG Jonathon Long (Clare), Meghan Long Thompson (Tyler), Christine Boyd, Christopher Long, Caitlyn Sandquist, Phillip Boyd, Jessica Long Miller (Kyle), R. Paden Long, Kiersten Sandquist, Army PFC W. Morgan Long, and 4 great grandchildren. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
