Robert G. "Bob" Timmons

Robert G. “Bob” Timmons, a beloved member of the Bourbon, Missouri community, was born on June 14, 1948, in Columbia, Illinois, to Lester and Virginia (Jones) Timmons. He departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 77 in Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan.

Bob was united in marriage to Deborah Huggins on September 18, 1971, in Millstadt, Illinois. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Ted and Sara, who were both sources of pride and joy throughout his life.

Bob dedicated his career as a diesel mechanic for Ryder Truck Rental and enjoyed entrepreneurship alongside Debbie, operating Silver Screen Video and Scales & Tails Pet Store in Cuba. He was also a retiree of District 9 International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers. His passions included spending time outdoors, riding his tractor, watching Star Wars and Superman movies, and indulging in his favorite meals like special treats and pizza. Most importantly, he cherished moments spent with his children and grandchildren, as well as the thrill of playing the lottery.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Virginia (Jones) Timmons; his brother Bill Timmons; sisters Glenda Pretto and Rosetta Thomas; father-in-law William “Bill” Huggins, Sr.; and sister-in-law Marsha Gossage.

Bob leaves behind a loving family who will always treasure his memory, including his devoted wife, Deborah Timmons; son Ted and wife Karen Timmons of Cuba; daughter Sara and husband James Jones of Bourbon; and five grandchildren: Katelynn and wife Kat Timmons, Hailey Timmons, Miriam Jones, Emmalin Jones, and Sawyer Jones. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Delores Huggins of Bourbon, brothers-in-law Charles Gossage of Salem, Illinois, William and wife Pam Huggins, Jr. of Cuba, Ronald and wife Dana Huggins of Bourbon, Donald Huggins of Waterloo, Illinois, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Bro. John Ripley. Interment will take place at Bourbon Cemetery.
