Richard Wayne Enloe

April 13, 1922 — October 18, 2016

Richard Wayne Enloe of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, April 13, 1922 at Cuba, Missouri to the union of James L. and Verona (Nee: Graham) Enloe and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 18, 2016 at Cuba Manor at the age of 94 years. Richard proudly served in the United States Navy from October 25, 1944 till June 8, 1946. He received the Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the American Campaign Medal while serving during World War II. Richard was united in marriage to Dorothy Mitchell on September 15, 1946 at Rolla, Missouri and to this union two sons were born; Rick and Nathan. After the service Richard went to work for the United States Postal Service. He was a rural mail carrier for thirty years in the area before he retired in 1977. After retiring for just a short time Richard went back to work as a real estate agent for Britton Reality and retired from Century 21 in 2007 after thirty years of selling real estate. Richard knew everyone in town and the surrounding area because he had either delivered their mail, help them sale a home or helped them purchase a home. Nearly every week day you could find Richard at the Cuba Senior Center. He enjoyed having lunch and visiting with everyone there. He would also play his harmonica at the center when they were having special music. Richard went to many nursing home, retirement homes and churches to play his harmonica. He had played for ninety plus years. Richard was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba for all of his adult life. He was a member of the D. A. V. and the National Rural Mail Carrier Association. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, a true gentleman and friend of everyone he ever met. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Richard is preceded in death by his parents James and Verona Enloe, wife Dorothy Enloe, two brothers Virgil and wife Harriette Enloe and Melvin Enloe and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving sons Rick and wife Becky Enloe of Springfield, Missouri and Nathan and wife Theresa Enloe of Cuba, five grandchildren Dena and husband Bob Atchley of Springfield, Missouri, Kellie and husband Justin Soles, Sara and husband Chris Summers of Cuba, Natalee Watkins of Rolla and Suzanne and husband Chris Keuper of Tulsa, Oklahoma, four great grandchildren Kaitlynne, Cheyenne, Chase and Baell, sister-in-law Marie Enloe of Cuba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4:00 till 7:00 pm at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Special music will be "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Interment, prayers and full military honors will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cuba Senior Center in Richard's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Enloe family.
