Obituary

Richard M. “Rich” Thompson of Cuba, Missouri, was born on January 31, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri. On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 65, Rich left this world unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that touched all who knew him.

Rich shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Becky A. Corzine, whom he married on March 3, 1979, in Jennings, Missouri. Together, they were blessed with three wonderful sons: Ryan, Billy, and Daniel, who were the pride and joy of his heart.

A dedicated businessman, Rich owned and operated Certa Care Carpet Cleaning in St. Louis from 1979 until 2015. Following that, he found joy in partnering with his son Ryan to run the Fanning Feed Store. Known for his warm spirit and great conversational skills, Rich took genuine pleasure in serving customers and forming lasting connections within his community.

Rich’s passions extended beyond his work. He cherished time spent on family fishing trips to beaver lake in Rodgers, Arkansas, golfing, bowling, and enjoying classic John Wayne Movies, Elvis’s music and Joel Osteen’s services. Whether relaxing on his tractor, dining out, or taking long drives with Becky, he savored simple moments filled with love and laughter. He and Becky were faithful attendees of the House of Prayer in Corning, Arkansas, and he loved engaging in thoughtful discussions about politics. Above all, Rich’s greatest happiness came from spending time with his family, especially his three cherished grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Thompson and Joyce Ann (Burris) Morgan; his brother, Tommy Morgan; and his parents-in-law, Billie and Dorothy Corzine.

Left to honor his memory are his devoted wife of forty-seven years, Becky A. Thompson of Cuba; his three sons, Ryan and Billy Thompson of Cuba, and Daniel Thompson of Union; his beloved grandsons, Ryan, Billie, and Owen Thompson; two brothers, Robert Leroy Sanders of Florissant and Alan Dean Gordon of Festus; two sisters, Debbie McCallister of Windsor, South Carolina, and Sheila Leonard of Kansas City, Kansas; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends who will forever cherish his kind spirit.

Richard “Rich” Thompson’s life was a tapestry woven with love, family, and kindness. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him.
