Richard C. Bridgeman

January 26, 1935 — July 6, 2021

Richard Calvin Bridgeman of Cuba, Missouri was born on Saturday, January 26, 1935 in Berryman, Missouri to the union of John and Ruth (Adair) Bridgeman. He left from this life on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at his daughters home, at the age of 86 years.

Richard was united in marriage to Norma Reeves on May 20, 1956 in Cuba, Missouri. To this union four children were born Nancy, Rhonda, Karen and Kevin.

Richard grew up working in the logging business, he later worked for Cuba Shoe Factory, N.B. West Construction and then he would return to the logging business. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba and he was a talented musician, in which he enjoyed playing his Dobro and Lap Steel Guitar. He loved spending time with his family friends, going to Gospel singing events and Blue Grass Festivals.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents John and Ruth (Adair) Bridgeman; one son-in-law Robert “Bobby” Richardson; one sister Lola Mae and husband Ernie) Holland; five brothers Wayne Bridgeman, Johnny and wife Teri Bridgeman, Carl Bridgeman, Lawrence Bridgeman and Rodger E, Bridgeman, Sr.; one sister-in-law Betty Jean and husband (Cecil) Stricklin; one brother-in-law Eddie Pinnell.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of sixty-five years Norma Bridgeman; four children Nancy and husband Jim Dotson, Rhonda Richardson, Karen and husband Nick Poynter, Kevin and wife Kara Bridgeman all of Cuba; five brothers Orville and wife Lois Bridgeman of Newbury Park, California, Haskell and wife Linda Bridgeman, Larry and wife Wanda Bridgeman, Clifford and wife Delphia Bridgeman, Lester and wife Glenda Bridgeman all of Cuba; three sisters Stella and husband Wilbert Buchka, Beverly and husband Jay Hanes, Sharon and husband Dallas Britton all of Cuba; one special ‘uncle brother’ Bud Bridgeman of Thousand Oaks, California; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Betty Bridgeman, Brenda Bridgeman, Helen and husband Charlie Vaughn, Clarence and wife Mary Reeves, Johnny and wife Tiny Reeves all of Cuba; grandfather of ten, great-grandfather of twenty-one, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Moore and Pastor Alan Miles.

Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
