Rev. Marvin Leroy Callahan

Rev. Marvin L. Callahan of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, November 13, 1929 at Cherryville, Missouri to the union of Arthur Jefferson and Sarah Emiline (Nee: Harris) Callahan and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2007 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 77 years 3 months and 19 days. Marvin was united in marriage to Ruth Fayon Barton on November 12, 1949 at Salem, Missouri and to this union eight children were born; Deloris, Gary, Shirley, Joyce, Barbara, Jan, Pam and Cindy. Rev. Callahan had served the Lord as a minister for over 60 years and was the Pastor at Center Ridge Pentecostal Church of Davisville for 10 years. He retired in 1994 as a supervisor for Pepsi in St. Louis, Missouri after 30 years of dedicated service. In his spare time he enjoyed squirrel, possum and raccoon hunting, reading, puzzle books, telling a good story, telling a good joke and going to Wal-Mart just to sit and visit with everyone, but the most important thing in his live was his family and serving the Lord. Rev. Callahan is preceded in death by his parents, mother in law and father in law Lebert and Stella Barton, one daughter Joyce Baker, one granddaughter Karen Warren, two brothers and wifes Landis and Alvie and Arlis and Mabel Callahan, four sisters and husbands Clella and Roy Godbey, Stella Callahan, Bonnie and Glen England and Lois Beal, brother in law Delmar Red Martin, Vernon and Ottis Barton, Bernice Huffman and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn his passing but to truly celebrate a life lived is his loving wife Ruth Callahan of the home, one son Gary Callahan of Cuba, six daughters; Deloris and husband Doug Warren of Chesterfield, Missouri, Shirley and husband Harrison Brown of Cherryville, Jan and special friend David Monda of Cuba, Barbara and husband Darrell Callahan of Steelville, Pam and husband William Huggins of Cuba, and Cindy and husband Darrell Phipps of Union, Missouri, one sister Lavada Martin of Steelville, twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one son in law Dennis Baker, one brother in law Jimmy Dale and wife Doris Barton of Dupo, IL, two sister in laws; Betty and husband Ray Harris of St. Louis and Alma and husband Buck Harris of Viburnum, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation Sunday, March 4th and Monday, March 5th from 3 to 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. Funeral service 11 AM Tuesday, March 6th at Center Ridge Pentecostal Church of Davisville with Pastor Harrison Brown, Rev. Dwight Barton and Rev. Perry Lewis officiating. Honored to be serving as pall bears are; Brad Brown, Tim and Adam Baker, Jeremy Prince, Brandon Harness, Cleve Holland and Steven Bridgeman. Burial at Martin Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is truly honored to be serving the Callahan family.
