Raymond C. Foster

Raymond C. Foster of Cuba, Missouri was born August 24, 1924 at Menfro, Missouri to the union of Charley and Florence (nee: Griffau) Foster and left from this life on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 89 years. Ray was united in marriage to Lucreita L. Holland on October 21, 1944 at Berkeley City, Missouri and to this union one son Charles was born. Ray retired from Emerson Electric in 1986 after twenty three years of dedicated service. After retiring Ray went to work for Echo Supplies as a night watchman and janitor. He worked there for 17 years before retiring again. Ray and Lucreita have been members of the First Baptist Church of Cuba for the last several years. Ray loved to drive his car. He would take the back way to McDonald's just to get coffee. In his younger years he rode his motorcycle to visit family. Ray was always aggravating everyone he knew and loved, in a fun way. Ray was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ray is preceded in death by his parents Charley and Florence Foster, his son Charles R. Foster, three brothers Carl, Cletus and Monty Fosters, four sisters Virginia Grubb, Ann Sissom, Marie Payne and Ramona Stone, three sisters-in-law Mae Griffin, Wanda Ferguson and Alma Allred and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of nearly seventy years Lucreita "Lou" Foster of the home, grandson CJ Foster and Brittany of Virginia Beach, Virginia, two grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one brother Leon and wife Betty Foster of Ferguson, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Bob Knight officiating. Special music will be "Amazing Grace", The Haven of Rest" and "Beulah Land". Interment and prayers will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cuba in Ray's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Foster family.
