Rawleigh H. Baldwin

December 27, 1935 — February 25, 2013

Rawleigh H. Baldwin of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, December 27, 1935 at Charter Oak, Missouri to the union of Arzie and Birdie (nee: Barnett) Baldwin and left from this life on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 77 years. Rawleigh was united in marriage of Lillian Pauline Breece on May 4, 1957 in Tupelo, Mississippi and to this union two sons were born Robert and Rod. Rawleigh proudly served in the United States Army from January 6, 1954 till July 30, 1956 and completed his time with the United States Army Reserves on March 31, 1962. Rawleigh retired in 1978 from Gordon's Transportation in St. Louis after 21 years of working on the dock. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #600. After retirement he went to work for the Missouri Department of Conservation for three years, where he planted trees, fought fires and enjoyed working outside. Once being truly retired Rawleigh stayed home on the farm, where he spent hours working in his garden, taking care of the yard, landscaping and once again just spending time outside. Rawleigh was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rawleigh is preceded in death by his parents Arzie and Birdie Baldwin, two sisters Mary "Sis" Swinger and Polly, three brothers Albert "Dick" and wife Hazel Baldwin and Arzie Baldwin, Jr. and Harold Baldwin and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Polly Baldwin of the home, two sons Robert "Bob" and wife Kim Baldwin and Rod Baldwin all of Cuba, one grandson Chad and wife Denise Baldwin of Union, Missouri, two great grandchildren Jack and Faith Baldwin of Union, Missouri one sister Saunie and husband Randy Breece of Jackson, Missouri, three brothers Bill and wife Becky Baldwin of Charter Oak, Missouri, Ronnie and wife Irene Baldwin of Benton, Missouri and Rick Baldwin, two sister-in-laws Patsy Baldwin of Dexter, Missouri and Lavada Oaker of Cuba, two brother-in-laws Randy and wife Saunie Breece of Jackson, Missouri and Buck and wife Bea Breece of Risco, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 11:00 till 1:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with "Amazing Grace" and "Go Rest High on that Mountain" as special music. Interment, prayers and full Military Honors will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Baldwin family.
