Randy Joe Baker, aged 66, of Cuba, Missouri, peacefully departed this life on December 1, 2025. He was born on July 23, 1959, in Rolla, Missouri, to Roy E. “Joe” and Norma L. (Counts) Baker.
On September 17, 1983, Randy was united in marriage to Rita Oellermann at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Louis, a union blessed with the birth of their son, Bruce. Randy was a proud graduate of the Cuba High School Class of 1977. Throughout his career, he contributed his talents and hard work at Peterson Oil Company, Fidelity, MODOT, and most recently, MFA Oil. As a dedicated member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Randy’s deep faith was an important part of his life.
Randy took great joy in the simple pleasures of life, including spending time with his beloved dachshund, Wally, farming, tinkering, and enjoying the company of friends and family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to share laughter with those around him.
Randy is preceded in death by his cherished parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Baker, of forty-two years; their son, Bruce Baker (Meagan Johnson) of Cuba; and granddaughter, Delilah Cowsert. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Sr. Rosemary Oellermann of Perryville and Ruth (Julian) Pritchard of Pacific; brother-in-law, Roy (Kara) Oellermann, Jr. of Carbondale, IL; aunts and uncles Wilma Jean Chastain of Clever, Betty Baker of Hurley, Dale (Sandy) Counts of Ironton, Charles (Miriam) Counts of Ironton, Jeanette (Paul) Juergens of Sullivan, Sharon (Bruce) Maesan of Bonne Terre, Glenna Goodman of Park Hills, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will treasure his memory.
A Prayer Service in honor of Randy will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 4:45 p.m., followed by visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Father Mark Smith serving as the celebrant and Father James Finder as the concelebrant.
After the service, Randy’s cremated remains will be inurned in the Columbarium at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Following the funeral, a luncheon will be hosted at the Baker home to continue the celebration of Randy’s life and his cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Cuba FFA Program.
