Ralph S. Sellers

Ralph S. Sellers of Cuba was born February 1, 1933 at Danville, Illinois to the union of Ralph B. and Sylvia (Nee: Ritter) Sellers and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Washington, Missouri at the age of 81 years. Ralph was united in marriage to Martha Winkels on May 3, 1958 at Chokio, Minnesota and to this union three children were born; Ralph, William and Martha Ellen. Ralph received his Bachelors from St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota, his Masters from St. Louis University and his PhD from the Catholic University in Washington DC. Ralph taught English at the high school in Chokio, Minnesota and grade school and high school in St. Charles, Missouri. He then taught English at Strayer University in Washington D.C. and the last twenty five years of his career he taught at NVCC (North Virginia Community College). Ralph was a devout Catholic and attended church at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Rosati, Missouri. Ralph enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. He was always up on today's politics. He also enjoyed playing board games and games on the computer. What Ralph truly treasured the most was spending time with his family. Ralph was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents Ralph B. and Sylvia Sellers, one grandson Daniel Sellers, one brother Richard Sellers, one sister Elizabeth Adcock and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Martha Sellers of Cuba, three children Ralph B. and wife Sabra Sellers, William Sellers and Martha Ellen Sellers all of Cuba, four grandchildren Alex Sellers, Sabra Ellen Sellers, Sylvia Sellers and Grace Sellers, one brother Donald and wife Loretta Sellers of Cuba, two sisters Mary Lee Brennan of St. Charles, Missouri and Patricia Jane Sellers of North Carolina, one brother-in-law Charles Nicholas and wife Evelyn Winkels of Springfield, Virginia, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Celebration of Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Rosati on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Father Charles Pardee as celebrant. Interment and prayers will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Masses or donation may be made to the Priest of the Sacred Heart, Hales Corner, Wisconsin in Ralph's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Sellers family.
