Ralph J. Rutz of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday, October 6, 1931 in Oak Hill, Missouri to the union of Walter L. and Laura E. (Tayloe) Rutz. He left from this life on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 89 years.
Ralph was united in marriage to Elizabeth Blount on October 17, 1954 and to this union three children were born Vicki Ann, David and Mary Beth.
Ralph honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Yellow Freight in 1994, after thirty years of dedicated service. In 1993, he became the co-owner of Interstate Regional Stockyards in Cuba. He enjoyed trucking cattle, being a cattle farmer and helping local people market their cattle.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents Walter L. and Laura E. (Tayloe) Rutz; one daughter Vicki Ann Rutz; one son David Rutz; three brothers Earl and wife Emma Rutz, Haskel and wife Pauline Rutz, George Rutz.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of sixty-six years Elizabeth "Speedy" Rutz of the home; one daughter Mary Beth and husband Scott Abolt of Cuba, Missouri; two granddaughters Abigail "Abby" and husband Garrett Wishon of Steelville, Missouri, Faith Rutz of Norfolk, Virginia; one sister-in-law Mary Clay of Cuba, Missouri; two cousins Warren Rutz of Granburg, Texas and Fern Kramme of Owensville, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Mace, officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
