Cuba, Missouri

Phillip Larey Licklider, 78, of Cuba, passed away, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Bethesda-Dilworth Health & Rehab in St. Louis. On July 12, 1945, Phillip was born to the union of Doris and Willie (Hicks) Licklider in Hazelwood, Missouri.

He graduated from Hazelwood High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri in Rolla, now known as Rolla S&T.

Phillip was united in marriage to Judith (Marshall) on November 29, 1969, at Rockhill Baptist Church in Rockhill, Missouri. He was a devoted member of Covenant Praise Church of God in Cuba and served as a Trustee of the Licklider Cemetery in Cuba.

Phillip’s faith was very important to him. He was passionate and devoted much of his time to mission trips with his wife. Not only did his missions allow him the ability to spread the word of God, but he also saw much of the world visiting places such as Argentina, Mexico, and China. Phillip was a talented woodworker and he enjoyed hunting in his younger years. Most of all Phillip loved his family, friends, and especially his grandkids. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Willie Licklider; as well as his sister, Deloris Licklider.

Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judith Licklider of Cuba; two sons, Robert Licklider and wife Nicole of Illinois, Jonathan Licklider and wife Melissa of Kansas; his daughter, Phyllis Tague, and fiancé Chris Higgins of Texas; nine grandchildren, Jacob Licklider, Cole Licklider, Katelyn Licklider, Allison Aufderhaar and husband Jason, Austin Tague, Andrew Tague, Darian Troutman, Logan Troutman, and Alexis Licklider; six great-grandchildren, Rylie, Natalie, Brayden, Brooklyn, Jaidyn, and Kyanna.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Covenant Praise Church of God on Monday, December 4, 2023, with a funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Licklider Cemetery in Cuba.
