Patricia Ann Phillips

Patricia Ann Phillips of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, November 15, 1941 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of David "Otto" and Nellie (Nee: Foster) Sutton and left from this life on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 74 years. Patricia was united in marriage to James "Darrell" Phillips on February 28, 1960 at St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two sons were born James and Scott. Patricia worked for the City of St. Louis as a librarian for twenty years. After retiring from the City of St. Louis, Patricia started taking evening classes on auditing and computers at Forest Park Community College and before long she started working for the college in the Tele Course Department. In 2001 Patricia and Darrell moved from St. Louis to Indian Hills Lake. Patricia enjoyed boat rides, putting her feet in the water and most of all just relaxing. In her younger years she enjoyed crocheting, making dolls, reading and traveling. For the last few years Patricia spent hours watching old western movies and TV shows. Patricia was raised and baptized Lutheran. Patricia was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Nellie Sutton, one son Scott August Phillips, two brothers John and wife Norma Sutton and David and wife Dorothy Sutton, one sister Shirley and husband Wesley Haws, brothers-in-law Louis Doskocil, Art Tipton and Terry Phillips and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving husband of fifty six years Darrell Phillips of the home, one son James and wife Bridget Phillips of Wentzville, Missouri, granddaughter Breanna Phillips of Wentzville, Missouri, daughter-in-law Joyce Phillips of Cuba, brother Charles "Bud" and wife Joyce Landis of San Bernardino, California, sister Nancy Doskocil of Cuba, sister-in-law Sue Tipton of Grandin, Missouri, brother-in-law Ernie and wife Jean Phillips of Grandin, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Special recorded music will be "Precious Memories", "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Interment and prayers will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Phillip's family.
