Nancy C. Vaughn

Nancy Carol Vaughn of Cuba, Missouri was born on June 27, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of George F. and Virginia L. (Baker) Akers. She left this life on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at The Arbors in Cuba at the age of 78.

Nancy was united in marriage to Donald E. Vaughn on January 5, 1979 in Sullivan, Missouri.

Nancy worked as a Veterinary Assistant and later as a Nurses Aide. She attended the First Baptist Church of Cuba and later Cuba Free Will Baptist Church. She loved working in her flower garden and taking care of animals, especially horses.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents George F. and Virginia L. (Baker) Akers; husband Donald E. Vaughn; son Frank G. Kerner.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two sons Stephen P. and wife Jackie Vaughn of Cuba, Guy T. and wife Teresa Vaughn; one grandson Bradley and wife Emily Dake of Cuba; two great-grandchildren Gavin and Emma Dake of Cuba; three sisters Linda Halbrook, Barbara Morse and Cindy Wilkerson; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin, officiating.

Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
