Mildred Mae Beckler of Owensville, Missouri was born Monday, August 13, 1934 at Belle, Missouri to the union of Harry and Stella (Nee: Helmig) Robertson. Mildred went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Gasconade Manor, Owensville at the age of 84 years. Mildred was united in marriage to Michael Leon Beckler on August 15, 1954 at Belle, Missouri and to this union three sons were born; Michael E., Aaron D. and John G. Mildred attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri for two years before transferring to SMS in Springfield, Missouri where she graduated with a Teaching Degree. Her career started in a one room school house in 1956. She taught in Collins, Abesville, Mansfield, Edgar Springs, Blue Eye and she retired from the Crawford County R-II School District in 1992. After Mildred and Leon moved to Owensville, Mildred substituted for the Owensville School District. Mildred played the piano and the accordion for many years. She loved going to the Nursing Home where she would play the piano for the residents. She was an avid reader, studied her bible daily and spent part of each day in prayer. There was a special place in Mildred's heart for animals, especially cats and dogs. She enjoyed scrapbooking, before it was popular, and she was a Pen Pal to many around the world. What she truly loved most in life was spending time with her family. Mildred was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, teacher and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Stella Robertson, husband and best friend Leon Beckler, one son John G. Beckler, great grandson Daeton Woods, one brother George Robertson, one sister Patsy Segrest, one sister-in-law Virginia and husband John Miller and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two loving sons; Michael E. and wife Connie Beckler of Independence, Missouri and Aaron D. Beckler of Belle, Missouri, two granddaughters; Gabrielle and husband Aaron Woods of Willard, Missouri and Lauren and husband Micheal Channel of Florissant, Missouri, two great grandchildren; Mylee and Evie Woods of Willard, nephew Kent and wife Janet Miller of Rolla and a host of other relatives, students and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 3:00 till 6:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastors Jim Chilton and Phillip Rector officiating. Special recorded music will be "How Great Thou Art", "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace". Interment and prayers will follow at the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens, Rolla, Missouri. Honored to serve as pall bearers are Kent Miller, Aaron Woods, Micheal Channel, Randy Rhoads, Danny Aytes and Roger Jett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church, 3591 Meyer Road, Owensville, Missouri 65066 in Mildred's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Beckler family.
