Margaret A. "Peggy" Phillips (Nee:brennan)

Margaret A. “Peggy” Phillips (nee: Brennan) of St. Louis, Missouri and formerly of Leasburg was born on Tuesday, September 29, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Thomas and Margaret Brennan. She left from this life on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Mary Queen and Mother Center in St. Louis at the age of 96.

Margaret “Peggy” Brennan was united in marriage to John O. “Jack” Phillips on November 27, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. To this union nine children were born Stephen, John O. Jr., Dan, Michael, Bob, Joan, Peggy, Maureen and Madeleine.

Peggy was devoted to her church and loved her family dearly. She volunteered at church as the RCIA leader and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 8920 Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to bible study, cooking, bird watching, traveling, singing Irish songs and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Margaret Brennan; husband Rev. Mr. John O. “Jack” Phillips; granddaughter Maureen Phillips; six brothers Jim, Bob, Tom, Jack, Larry and Richard Brennan; two sisters Mary Ann “Mimi” Snider and Cathy Dunn.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her nine loving children Joan Noser of St. Louis, Stephen (Connie) Phillips of Lexington, Kentucky, John O. (Margaret) Phillips, Jr. of O’Fallon, Dan Phillips of St. Louis, Michael Phillips of St. Louis, Peggy (Ed) Kuehner of St. Louis, Maureen Mitchell of Omaha, Nebraska, Madeleine (Andy) Chavez of Fenton, Bob (Janice) Phillips Jefferson City, ; Dear sister of Dennis Brennan Pell Lake, Wisconsin, Ellen Dwyer of Chandler, Arizona, Madeleine Brennan of Chandler, Arizona; seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, Missouri 63123.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 13, 2021 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church 9740 Sappington Rd. St. Louis, Missouri 63128 with Peggy’s nephew, Rev. Lawrence Brennan as the celebrant. Livestream available at SCL parish website homepage at sclparish.org

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Dan Lueckenotte, officiating.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to Cardinal Ritter Senior Services.
