September 23, 1925 — October 14, 2015

Lucreita "Lou" Foster of Cuba, Missouri was born September 23, 1925 at Truman, Arkansas to the union of Charles and Nettie Belle (Nee: Etter) Holland and left from this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 90 years. Lou was united in marriage to Raymond C. Foster on October 21, 1944 at Berkeley City, Missouri and to this union one son was born, Charles. They were married sixty nine years when Raymond passed away in April of 2014. Lou worked at many small restaurants, a drug store in St. Louis and the Cuba Shoe Factory before her and Raymond purchased a building from Jack and Lorene Todd. The opened Meramec Sundries in Cuba in April of 1970. Delicious malts and shakes, tuna sandwiches, grilled cheese, hamburgers and soda were among the lunch specialties. Lou worked twelve hours a day, six days a week to nearly seven years. After Lou sold Meramec Sundries, in December of 1977, she went to work at Casey's and Wallace Bakery. For a while, she would work nights at the bakery from 10 or 11 in the evening to 4 or 4:30 in the morning. Then, she would go over to Casey's at 5 AM to make donuts there. Eventually, she became a greeter at Cuba Walmart, where she worked for seven years before she retired on July 7, 2005. Lou was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba. In her spare time Lou enjoyed baking, reading, making Concord grape, green tomato, banana cream and coconut custard pies. What Lou loved most in life was her family and church family. Lou was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lou is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Nettie Holland, husband, son Charles R. Foster, three sisters Mae Griffin, Wanda Ferguson and Alma Allred, three brothers-in-law Carl Foster, Cletus Foster and Monty Foster, four sisters-in-law Virginia Grubb, Ann Sissom, Marie Payne and Ramona Stone and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her grandson CJ Foster of the state of Virginia, two grandchildren, brother-in-law Leon and wife Betty Foster of Ferguson, Missouri, special niece and care taker Donna Wools of Cuba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, church family and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Jason Bell officiating. Special recorded music will be "Amazing Grace", "The Haven of Rest" and "Beulah Land". Honored to serve as pall bearers will be CJ Foster, Roy Lane, Dewayne Fee, Darren Fee, Danny Wools and Dennis Wools. Interment and prayers will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cuba. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Lou's family.
