Louis T. Barlet Jr.

March 10, 1940 — June 26, 2020

Louis T. Barlet, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, March 10, 1940 at Chicago, Illinois to the union of Louis T, Sr. and Alta Beulah (Nee: Carter) Barlet. He left from this life on Friday, June 26, 2020 at his home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 80 years.

Louis worked as a welder, machinist and ending his career as a supervisor for Flemings, Cuba. He retired in 2006 after nearly forty years of dedicated service.

Louis was able to create anything. If he saw a tool in a magazine, he would create the tool instead of spending hundreds of dollars for it. He spent hours thinking about how to solve a problem and then he would solve it. Everything he did had to be perfect or it wouldn't work.

The hours, days and years that he spent in his shop woodworking was enjoyed by everyone. He made picnic tables, picture frames, signs, puzzles, cedar chest, bunk beds and many, many more items.

Each spring was spent planting a gardening. In his younger years in enjoyed playing pool and bowling. What he truly treasured most in life was spending time with his family and friends.

He was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents Louis, Sr. and Alta Barlet; one sister Jacqueline and husband Dwayne Leasor and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of sixty-two years Doris Barlet of the home; three children James Barlet of Cuba, LaDonna and husband Larry Usery of Rolla, Rick and wife Shawnda Barlet of New Haven, Missouri; three grandchildren Alicia and husband Jackie Thompson of Cuba, Kate Jones of New Haven, Ty Jones of New Haven; four great grandchildren Krysti Hampton, Cheyanne Hampton, Shaylee Chepely, Marissa Chepely; one sister Geraldine and husband Paul Dickens of Cuba; two sisters-in-law Mary Price of Arkansas and Faye Downing of Cuba, brother-in-law Garrison and wife Sharon McElfresh of Foristell, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
