Lois Jean Barnhart

Lois Jean Barnhart of Bland, Missouri was born to the union of Joseph and Mary Ruth (Peck) McWilliams on September 21, 1932 in Troy, Ohio. She left from this life at her home, surrounded by her family on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the age of 84 years. From 1943-1946, Lois was proud to be a member of the Troy, Ohio Junior Girls Canteen Services. The girls provided canteen services to thousands of soldiers during World War II. Lois was united in marriage to Willis "Bud" Barnhart on October 27, 1951 and to this union they were blessed with five children Denise, Elaine, Peggy, Ron and Joe. Together for several years, Bud and Lois owned and operated B & L Distributors in Urbana, Ohio. They were the distributors of Kersun Heaters. They later would move to their beautiful farm in Bland, Missouri, where Lois enjoyed being a homemaker, reading, collecting nick knacks, gardening, shopping and spoiling her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lois is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Ruth (Peck) McWilliams; one sister Phyllis Emswiler. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her husband Willis "Bud" Barnhart of Bland, Missouri; five children Denise and husband Ron Baker of Cuba, Missouri, Elaine and husband Jim VanTilburgh of St. James, Missouri, Peggy and husband Garry Goss of Bedford, Pennsylvania, Ron and wife Stacy Barnhart of St. Paris, Ohio, Joe Barnhart of Urbana, Ohio; one brother Harold McWilliams of Ocala, Florida; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. As per her wishes, Lois will be cremated. A private family ceremony was held at the family farm. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Hospice Memorial Fund 901 E. Fifth St. Washington, Missouri 63090. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Barnhart family.
