Leonard Franklin Lambert

March 2, 1920 — July 2, 2015

Leonard Franklin Lambert of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Jasper and Bertha Isabelle (Bates) Lambert on March 2, 1920 in Sullivan, Missouri and he left from this life on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Cuba Manor at the age of 95. Leonard was united in marriage to Kimiko Iketani on November 19, 1957 in Yokohama, Japan and to this union two children were born Kenneth and Patricia. Leonard honorably served and thence retired from the U.S. Navy, after serving during WWII and the Korean War. He worked as an Engineer on the Ferry Boats in California and later as a Steel Company Machinist. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. Leonard is preceded in death by his parents Jasper and Bertha Isabelle (Bates) Lambert. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife of 57 years Kimiko Lambert of Cuba, Missouri; two children Kenneth Lambert of Brentwood, Missouri and Patricia Wagner of Clarksburg, Tennessee; three grandchildren Mat, Hana and Akane; one sister Nadine O'Dell of Indianapolis, Indiana; special friends Harumi Wakisaka and husband Tom Krolak of St. James, Missouri and the entire staff of Cuba Manor. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 3:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with SGI-USA Ozark Chapter Leaders Georgie Trotter and Mark Fisher, officiating. Leonard will be cremated following the funeral service. His urn will be interred at Ft. Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville, Missouri with full military honors on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Lambert family.
