Leon Burton Dickens Sr., 82, of Cuba, passed away, Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Cuba Village Memory Care, in the comforting presence of his loving family.
On November 20, 1943, Leon was born to the union of Garrett Dickens & Edna (Ragan) in Rolla, Missouri.
Leon was united in marriage to Donna Nichols.
He was a true entrepreneur, owning and operating many successful businesses over the years such as Forklifts of Cuba and Route 66 Trailer Park.
Going to work or work in general was Leon's hobby. He enjoyed running his businesses and growing them to their fullest potential. He had the ability to fix almost anything. If he couldn't fix it then he could re-build it or build something better. He was always thinking about his next venture, coming up with ideas and designing projects in his head. Leon was also a talented cartoonist as well as a proficient drawer. In his younger years, Leon was skilled at building airboats. He also loved to be outdoors going hunting or fishing, especially in Colorado for the big elks. Most of all, Leon loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garrett (Edna) Dickens; daughter, Tamela "Tammy" Dickens; siblings, Jimmy (Sharon) Dickens, Carl (Shirley) Dickens, Louie Dickens, Ruby (Floyd) Williams, Helen (Cecil) Brown, Mable (Edwin) Kitchen, Lucille Campbell & Ruth Ann Dickens; Sisters-in-law, Beulah Hines, Ann (Russ) Bentley, Flo Bedwell & Willma (James) Carroll; brother-in-law, Rainey (Nadine) Nichols; Parents-in-law, Tom & Geneva (Atchison) Nichols.
Leon is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Donna Dickens of Cuba; son, Leon (Tiffany) Dickens Jr. of Cuba; daughter, Sonia Smith; brother, Paul (Geraldine) Dickens; brother-in-law, Gary Campbell of Cuba; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Shelby, Lili, Taylea, Treyton Dickens; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory, Cuba, Missouri. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, also at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory, Cuba Missouri. Burial with a graveside service will follow the funeral service at Meramec Hills Memorial Lawn, Cuba, Missouri.
