Laura U. Hardy of Winona, Missouri was born August 31, 1929 at Ink, Missouri to the union of Henry Clay and Martha (Nee: Jordan) Price and went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Mt. View Health Care Center, Mt. View, Missouri at the age of 86 years. Laura was the youngest of five children and at a very young age the family moved from Ink to St. Louis, Missouri. Laura graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1952. After graduation Laura went to work at the National Biscuit Company with her parents. Laura got married and then went to work for Century Electric. After a few years they moved to Otto, Missouri where they owned and operated Hardy's Grocery Store. During the years of owning the grocery store they added an ice cream shop and a liquor store. After selling the store Laura moved to Eminence. Laura was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Eminence and was baptized July 4, 1993 at the Jacks Fork River. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Current River Chapter #239. Laura enjoyed putting together thousand pieces puzzles, listening to country music, gardening, taking care of her flowers and getting her hair done every week. Laura was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, granny, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Laura is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Martha Price, two sons Charles Ray Hardy and Kenneth Wayne Hardy, three brothers Charles, Howard and John Henry Price, one sister Mildred and husband Ray "R.V" Harrison and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her six grandchildren Jamie, Jennifer, Justin, Amy, Jeremy and Matthew, great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Belinda and husband Rusty Godfrey of Imperial, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Duncan Funeral Home, Hwy 19, Eminence, Missouri from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence with Pastor Alan Stringer as officiant. Honored to be serving as pall bearers are Steve Shaw, C.J. Harrison, Brian Wallace, Mark Slayton, Matthew Hardy and Kevin Zvibleman. Honorary pall bearers are Eugene Harrison, Chester Harrison, Vernon Shaw and Vance West. Interment and prayers will follow at the Flatwoods Cemetery, Eminence, Missouri. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Eminence in Laura's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Laura's family.
