Larry D. Farris of Owensville, Missouri was born Saturday, November 10, 1951 at Fagus, Missouri to the union of John Davis and Ruthie Mae (Nee: Riggs) Farris. He left from this life on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Frene Valley of Owensville at the age of 67 years. Larry worked at Georgia Pacific for twenty-five years, before his health began to decline and he had to retire early. When he wasn't at work, he enjoyed working on the farm. He spent hours taking care of the horses, putting up hay and building fences. He was a loving son, brother, husband, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, step father, step grandfather, step great grandfather and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his father John Davis Farris, his loving wife of forty plus years Violet J. Farris, sister Brenda Mook, step daughter Chris White, step daughter-in-law Barb Thomas, step son-in-law Luke House and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his mother Ruthie Farris of Frankford, Missouri, one brother Kenny and wife Amy Farris of Canton, Missouri, two sisters; Betty Walker of Vandalia, Missouri and Linda and husband Eddie Schindler of Frankford, Missouri, step daughter Kathy House of Cuba, step son James Thomas of Robertsville, Missouri, step son-in-law Robert White of Cuba, five step grandchildren; Tracey and husband Ron Hughes of Cuba, Bob House of Cuba, Jerrid and wife Heather Thomas of Cuba, Lindsay and husband Sam Ruble of Cuba and Marcy Greenland of South Carolina, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. In keeping with Larry's wishes he was cremated, and no services will be held. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Larry's family.
