Kent C. Kimbrel

May 24, 1926 — March 6, 2015

Kent C. Kimbrel of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Samuel and Luella (Dunivantee) Kimbrel on May 24, 1926 in Bloomfield, Missouri and left from this life on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 88. Kent retired as a Foreman from Hussman Refrigeration in St. Louis. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, VFW Post #7147, Cuba Memorial Post #512 A.L., Cuba Lions Club and Sullivan Eagles. His hobbies included fishing, boating, woodworking, gardening and he loved spending time with his family and friends. Kent is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Lois Kimbrel, Lila "Lee" Sendig and Marge Spirito; one brother Earl Kimbrel; one daughter Patricia Sheehan; one son Randy Petty; one grandson Brian Cayton; one great-grandson Timothy Ray DuBoise. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Dorothy (Fahr) Kimbrel of Cuba, Missouri; five children Richard and wife Karen Kimbrel of Affton, Missouri, Debra and husband Bill Harmon of Cuba, Missouri, Sharon and husband Reggie Gillespie of Randolph, Misssissippi, Barbara and husband Darryle Hinch of Desoto, Missouri, Pamela and husband Robert Larson of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers-in-law James Petty of Cuba, Missouri and Robert Fahr of St. Peters, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 3:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Ed Pederson, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to St. Paul's Lutheran Church 730 Fleenor Rd. Cuba, Missouri 65453. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Kimbrel family.
