Obituary

Kenneth E. "Kenny" Wenzel, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on July 15, 1950, Kenny was a cherished member of the Wenzel family, leaving behind memories of kindness, dedication, and a gentle spirit.

From an early age, Kenny embraced the values of hard work and commitment, working alongside his loved ones on the family farm. His strong work ethic led him through a fulfilling career, first with Proctor Shoe in Bourbon, before moving on to the Industrial Wire Company, and ultimately retiring from McGinnis Wood Products. Kenny’s steady hands and steadfast nature earned the respect of coworkers and neighbors alike.

Beyond his professional life, Kenny found joy in the simple pleasures that colored his days. He was known for his love of cutting grass, a pastime that underscored his appreciation for both the beauty and tranquility of rural life. In his younger years, Kenny looked forward to deer hunting—a tradition that connected him to the land and provided cherished moments with friends and family. In quieter times, he enjoyed watching western movies, always with a particular fondness for anything starring John Wayne.

Kenny will be dearly missed by his family, including his devoted sisters, Karen Wenzel and Shirley Peterson; his brother, Jimmy Wenzel; his sister-in-law, Ann Wenzel; and his sister, Sue Wenzel; cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Their love, support, and shared memories stand as a continuing testament to the close-knit bonds they shared.

He was reunited in rest with his father, Earnest Wenzel; his mother, Thelma Wenzel; and his brothers, Bobby, Ronnie, and Gary Wenzel, who preceded him in death. The memory of their love and the times spent together will always be treasured by those who remain.

A graveside service to honor Kenny’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Lick Creek Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri. Family, friends, and all those whose lives Kenny touched are invited to come together, reflect, and celebrate a life well lived.

Kenneth E. "Kenny" Wenzel’s legacy will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his gentle strength, and the warmth he brought to all who knew him. His memory will live on through the stories shared and the hearts he graced throughout his years.

The Mizell Funeral Home and crematory is honored to be serving the family of Kenneth E. "Kenny" Wenzel.
