Joye Adkins of Cuba, Missouri was born February 7, 1938 in Jerome, Missouri to the union of Robert J. and Goldie (Davidson) Giddens and left from this life on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 surrounded by her family at her daughters home in Washington, Missouri at the age of 78. Joye owned & operated D.J.'s Restaurant in Pacific, Missouri for 15 years. She was very giving person in the Pacific community, providing a free Thanksgiving Dinner and food for the Flood of 1993. Spending time with her family was the most important part of her life, she loved spoiling her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joye is preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard F. Adkins; four brothers Terry, Richard, Jim and Gary Dean Giddens. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her three children Richard "Rick" and wife Robin Adkins of Cuba, Missouri, Mike and wife Vicky Adkins of Villa Ridge, Missouri, Delisa and husband Kevin GRaffis of Washington, Missouri; ten grandchildren Jenni, Jeffrey, Jammi, Michael and Matthew Adkins, Nikki and husband Ben Dieterlen, Michelle Dunn, Kaleb Graffis, Melissa Kuethe, Michael Caravelli; seven great-grandchildren Conner Dieterlen, Jacob Richard, Jadon McDaniels, Jaylynn Kuethe, Devin Adkins, Cameron Caravelli, Jayce Abernathy; three brothers Robert "Bob" Giddens of St. Clair, Missouri, Ronald "Ron" Giddens of N. Pekin, Illinois, Jerry Giddens of Eldon, Missouri; two sisters Sharon McDonald of Marquette Heights, Illinois, Sue Watson of Pekin, Illinois; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Virgil Nelson, officiating. Interment will follow at Harrison-Pillman Cemetery, Arlington, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Adkins family.
