Joyce Darlene Douglas of Cuba was born on Thursday, October 31, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 73. Joyce worked many years at Memorial Home in South St. Louis as a Medical Records Clerk. She was a member of Faith Chapel and enjoyed Arts and Crafts, reading her Bible, Gospel music and she loved being around others especially children. Joyce is preceded in death by her mother Ruth Mae Catherine (Sandefer) Lantree; one sister Linda Sue Graf. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are one brother Donald Cox of Fenton, Missouri, two sisters Debra Kaye and husband Stan Highley of Cuba, Missouri, Sandra Highley of Washington, Missouri; special friend Larry Zagar of Arnold, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Buettner, officiating. Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the American Heart Association. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Douglas family.
