Joel Clayton Mcmillian

Joel Clayton McMillian of St. James, Missouri formerly of Cuba was born December 1, 1964 at Sullivan, Missouri to the union of Herman Sidney and Irma Jean (Nee: George) McMillian, Sr. and left from this life on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. James, Missouri at the age of 49 years. Joel was an avid fan of baseball cards, especially of the St Louis Cardinals and any card who the players name was Joel. Joel enjoyed hunting, fishing, road trips and yard sales. What Joel enjoyed most was having a party because that meant lots of food and all the family would be there. Joel was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to everyone he ever met. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Joel is preceded in death by his father Herman McMillian, Sr., two brothers Clifford Leroy McMillian and Herman "Mack" McMillian, Jr. and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his loving mother Irma McMillian of Cuba, one brother Larry McMillian of Cuba, five sisters Joann and husband Dick Busse of St. Clair, Karen Childress of St. James, Kathy Hays of Cuba, Carol and husband Bruce Crutchfield of Cuba and Pam Richardson of Cuba, special care giver Donna Copling, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon till 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba. Special music will be "I'll Fly Away", "I'm Going to Live Forever" and "Family Bible". Honored to serve as pall bearers will be Leland Skyles, Nelson Carter, Clayton Williams, Leroy Krewson, Pete Duffy and Larry McMillian, Jr. Interment and prayers will follow at the McMillian farm, Cuba, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Joel's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the McMillian family.
