Jerry Maurice Livesay

June 1, 1941 — November 11, 2017

Jerry Maurice Livesay of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, June 1, 1941 at Keysville, Missouri to the union of William Ralph and Florentine (Nee: Reisner) Livesay and left from this life, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home in Cuba at the age of 76 years. Jerry graduated from Steelville High School 1959 and after graduation he joined the United States Navy. He served in the Navy from 22 Jun 59 till 26 Jul 63. After returning home from the Navy, Jerry continued with his machinist training and went to work for Schwitzer in Rolla, Missouri and he worked there for twenty-five years. After leaving Schwitzer, Jerry was too young to retire, so he went to work at Aerofil Technology and he retired from there in 2004 after twenty years. Jerry was united in marriage to Charlotte Callahan on September 11, 1971 at Steelville, Missouri. They were the proud parents of Kevin, Kenny, Tina, Mia and they raised Curt Callahan as their own son. During high school and in the Navy Jerry played basketball and baseball. In his younger years he played golf and was on a bowling league. Jerry also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing horse shoes. He was an avid sports fan; he always watched NASCAR, Mizzou Tigers football and basketball, the NFL and he was a lifetime fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Jerry, along with his family and or friends, would spend hours playing cards; rummy, poker, crazy 8's and spades. Their kitchen table was the place for many family games and gatherings. Jerry worked his whole life, so after retirement he found a new hobby, wood working. He made whirly jigs that looked life frogs and one for his grandson that looks like Elvis. What Jerry truly enjoyed most in life was having his family around. Whether it was for a barbeque, fish fry, holidays or just a visit, Jerry was always the happiest when the family was home. For the last few years Jerry and Charlette have attended the Coffee Community Church of Steelville.
