Jean J. 'Mary Lou' Morris

January 26, 1936 — December 13, 2016

Jean J. "Mary Lou" Morris of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Belleville, Illinois was born Sunday, January 26, 1936 at Belleville, Illinois to the union of Jerry and Ann Marie (nee: Grill) Kricensky and left from this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Gasconade Manor, Owensville, Missouri at the age of 80 years. Mary Lou, as she was known by many, was united in marriage to Milton L. Morris on July 21, 1962 at Belleville, Illinois and they were the proud parents of Michelle and Michael. Mary Lou left the Belleville Township High School West in the 11th grade and went to work for the telephone company as switch board operator, where she worked for ten years. She then worked at First Illinois Bank, East St. Louis, as the secretary and the switchboard operator for twenty plus years. Mary Lou raised beautiful flowers, was a wonderful cook (especially of the old German recipes she learned from her mom) and she spent hours bird watching. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and member of the Elks Lodge #664Ladies Auxiliary, Fairview Heights, Illinois. In 1996 Mary Lou and Milton moved to Indian Hills Lake. She cooked for all of the Cuba VFW special events for many years and they enjoyed traveling. For their 25th wedding anniversary they took the trip of a lifetime and went on a Caribbean Cruise. Mary Lou spent hours doing crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles and watching for the bald eagles at the lake. What she truly loved most in life was spending time with her family. Mary Lou was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be forever remembered and truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Ann Kricensky, husband Milton Morris, sister Alene and husband Robert Duncan, brothers in law Edward, Russell and Johnny Bowman and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children Michelle and husband Dean Garber of Cuba and Michael Morris and companion Diane Betz of Fairview Heights, Illinois, three amazing grandchildren Alex and Chase Garber of Cuba and Megan Morris of Fairview Heights, Illinois, twin sister Jeanette "Jeannie" and husband Bill Crolley of Cuba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
