Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful mother Janet Edna Stock on April 22, 2026, at the age of 93. Janet was born on December 10, 1932, in the vibrant city of St. Louis, Missouri, she was a beacon of warmth and love to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Janet was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Mary Boese, who preceded her, along with her beloved siblings, Joann, Rick, and Sissy. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband Clarence B. Stock, three children Gary, April, David and three grandchildren Taylor Stock, Cali Faaborg and Charlie Stock. Janet is survived by her three loving children; Randy (Leigh Ann) Stock, Tammy (Roger) Shafferkoetter, and Cindy (Scott) Faaborg. Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren; Jason (Kerri) Stock, Jennifer (Scott) Miller, Katy (Paul) Rawlins, Michael Faaborg, Carl (Leslie) Shafferkoetter, Jesse (Danielle) Shafferkoetter, and Nick (Kayla) Shafferkoetter. Janet was also a proud great-grandmother to Kyle, Raiden, Makenlei, Annaleigh, Ainsley, Ashlynn, Jameson and Saxton, and many nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life Janet was a woman of many talents and vocations. She dedicated her time to roles as a waitress, bartender, telephone operator, nurses’ aide, caregiver, and volunteer. She was a proud member of the Women’s American Legion, The Indian Hills Ladies Auxiliary, and was actively involved in several women’s bowling leagues, both in St. Louis and Cuba, MO. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Holy Cross Church.

Janet’s love for life was evident in her passion for tending to her beautiful flower gardens and relishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and family. Her home was always open, and her heart was even more so. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved, and her kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

The family extends a special message of gratitude and deep appreciation to Carl, Leslie and Kyle Shafferkoetter, her devoted grandchildren who provided her with the loving daily care that allowed her to live out her final years in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family and pets, fulfilling her deepest wishes.

Janet Edna Stock will be dearly missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Janet’s memory, as a testament to her selfless nature and enduring legacy of compassion.

Memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m.
