Irene H. Mathis

Irene H. Mathis (nee: Humski) of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Anton and Catherine (Stachowski) Humski on February 28, 1911 in Menasha, Wisconsin and left from this life on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 103. Irene was united in marriage to Clyde B. Mathis on January 9, 1937 and shared 69 years of marriage together. Irene was a homemaker and a longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to auctions and gardening. Irene is preceded in death by her parents Anton and Catherine (Stachowski) Humski; husband Clyde B. Mathis; Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her niece Pat and husband Herbert Palmer of Topeka, Kansas; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church 415 W. School St. Cuba, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Rich Boever as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored be serving the Mathis family.
