Homer Leo Littrell Sr.

December 30, 1935 — July 16, 2016

Homer Leo Littrell Sr. of Cuba, Missouri was bon December 30, 1935 at Jonesburg, Missouri to the union of Hamen and Rosetta (Nee: Luttrell) Littrell and left from this life Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 80 years. Homer proudly served in the United States Army from June 19, 1956 till June 11, 1959. He earned the Expert Rifle and Expert Pistol medals. Homer retired from MODOT as a foreman after thirty three years of dedicated service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pranks on his family and playing the lottery especially scratch offs. Homer truly enjoyed the game of baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. What Homer enjoyed and loved most in life was his family. Homer was a loving son, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, great-great uncle and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Homer is preceded in death by his parents Hamen and Rosetta Littrell, four brothers Bert, Alvin, Buddy and Raymond Littrell, three sisters Ethel and husband Lon Ash, Marie and husband Vernon Copling and Margie Littrell, sister-in-law Gloria Casarotto and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving children Shannon and wife Rachel Littrell of Cuba, Missouri, Richard Keogh of Bourbon, Missouri, Lisa and husband Gregg Gumpenberger of Bourbon, Missouri, David Keogh of Cuba, Missouri, Linda Keogh of Cave Creek, Arizona and Susan and husband Daniel Marz of Rolla, Missouri, twelve grandchildren Daniel, Alex, Hailey, Wyatt, Emily, Suzette, Joe, Jeanie, Natasha, Jessie, Courtney, and Brent, eight great grandchildren, two nephews Brian and wife Diane Littrell of Cuba and Wesley and wife Amanda Littrell of Leasburg, five great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 4:00 till 7:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Military honors will follow the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Homer's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Littrell family.
