Hallie Bernice Turnbough

November 10, 1920 — November 7, 2020

Hallie Bernice Turnbough (nee: Barr) of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, November 10, 1920, and peacefully departed this life on Saturday, November 7, 2020, three days shy of her 100th birthday.

Hallie had looked forward to this milestone and had already enjoyed numerous cards and well wishes from family members and friends.

Hallie was raised in the Belgrade, MO area. At a young age she worked as a caregiver, a profession she would return to in later years as a Senior Companion and continue in through her 80's. In between, she worked at various factories. Hallie was a woman of strong faith, which she enjoyed sharing with family and friends. She had a love of gospel and country music and could pick a guitar, a skill she passed on to her sons. Some of her favorite times were family gatherings with good food and good music!

Hallie was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Turnbough, her parents, Fred and Susan (Evie) Barr, brothers, Jack Barr and Glenwood Barr, and a sister Dorothy Barr Turnbough.

Hallie is survived by her and Murphy's children, Judy and Bob Barlows of Overland Park, KS, Mike and Evelyn Turnbough of Steelville, MO, Rick and Shelly Turnbough of Bourbon, MO, and Tim and Josie Turnbough of Cuba, MO. eight grandchildren Brian and Scott Barlows, Joe, Jason, Brandon, Eric, and Josh Turnbough, and Kelsey Pieber, eleven great grandchildren Lauren, Ashley, Brett, Kevin, Jagger, Carson, Jack, Hallie Taylor, William, Murphy, and Hazel, and 2 great, great grandchildren, Dillon and Sage. She is also survived by three sisters, Betty Tiner of Cuba MO, Ann Hartwick of Cuba MO, and Peggy Brey of Michigan. She spent her "golden" years living with her sister, Ann and was fortunate to spend the last two and a half years sharing a room with Ann at Cuba Manor, with Betty in the room next door. Hallie, Betty, and Ann were known to many as the Golden Girls (or the Three Musketeers, depending on what they had been up to!)

In spite of a long, well lived life, she will be sadly missed by family, friends, and all whom she touched.
